Two months ago I nearly died in a motorcycle accident.
...it sounds so dramatic when I say it like that.
I was riding along at nearly 70 miles per hour when I hit a badger that was crossing the highway. I don't remember anything about the accident, only waking up in the ICU, my body completely numb from all the pain killers they'd given me. my arm didn't work too well and I couldn't bend my left knee due to much of the skin and muscle getting ground off..
I'm only now getting back to normal life. My bones are healing up, the road rash is mostly gone, and I can use my left arm again.
When something like that happens, your perspective tends to change. I realized that I really need to get back to drawing. I have a graphic novel I want to write, and it's not writing itself. So for the first time in almost two years, I picked up my digital tablet and started storyboarding.
I'm not sure if it's realistic for me to produce a page per week, but I hope I can maintain that pace. I'll be returning to school this fall, so my schedule may be further interrupted. In the mean time, I'll throw some of my artwork up here in this space.
