Well, I've found something new to pour my time into: a graphic novel. Designing one, that is. You see, over the last two years, I wrote a novel and now I have this killer universe I created... I might as well exploit it a bit. Well, that's what I'm doing.
The outline for my story is done and I'm hammering away on a script while drawing out the panels. It's definitely going to take a lot of time; I can only manage to draw about two panels per day, tops. I uploaded the latest panel; a character that goes by the name of Vlad. He's a vampire pirate. And yes, there will also be ninjas and more ass-kickery than you'll know what to do with.

Climbing back into the saddle
Two months ago I nearly died in a motorcycle accident.
...it sounds so dramatic when I say it like that.
I was riding along at nearly 70 miles per hour when I hit a badger that was crossing the highway. I don't remember anything about the accident, only waking up in the ICU, my body completely numb from all the pain killers they'd given me. my arm didn't work too well and I couldn't bend my left knee due to much of the skin and muscle getting ground off..
I'm only now getting back to normal life. My bones are healing up, the road rash is mostly gone, and I can use my left arm again.

Change
Hello.
I've returned to college to finish my art degree and since I also work full time, regularly go to the gym, and like to spend at least one night per week in the company of friends, I really haven't done anything with the Forsaken. I'm not happy about that. Maybe some day I can do some more work on it, but I don't see it happening in the near future.
On the bright side, I'm back to working in physical media and I'm really, really enjoying it. I owe much to my digital painting experience, but without the physical foundation I found myself lacking in many ways. I'm happy to be painting again. It's a sort of homecoming for me.

Believe me when I say my life has changed dramatically since my last update. As a result, I haven't even touched photoshop, or even my sketchpad, since March. I want that to change. I need it to. If I ignore my need to create for long enough it's going to send me into a vicious tailspin.
The Forsaken has suffered a great deal. I want to return to it, to finish it, but I think I need to go full black and white or else I'll be working on it until the day I die. If this part sounds pretentious in any way, please forgive me... if there's anybody out there that would like to color my pencil work on the Forsaken, please link me to some sample work
Ready for a day off
It's been constant web-building and drawing for the last couple weeks, and finally the new website is up! Getvirtual.ca! I feel pretty fortunate to get a really cool URL...
Page 41 was posted yesterday on the site http://www.getvirtual.ca so go check it out if you have some time. This is the first page I've incorporated Google Sketchup into my artwork. It's super easy to put a basic layour down in sketchup and then position the camera where you want it and take a screen capture. This allows me to get my perspective perfect... no more vanishing point trick! :D
That's all I got for now. Thanks for stopping by.
